Membership of Chudleigh Baptist Church.

On Sunday 14th February 2010, 59 people signed a Covenant Book to indicate their commitment to Chudleigh Baptist Church. The children of the church made handprints as their way of saying that they too were a part of the church family.
This followed a series of six talks asking, ‘What does it mean to be a part of Chudleigh Baptist Church?’ Each talk dealt with one aspect of the Covenant promise. (These talks are available as pod-casts).

By signing the book each person was making the following promise:

'As a member of Chudleigh Baptist Church I affirm my faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and commit myself to seek to:
1.  Live in a way that is consistent with being a disciple of Jesus Christ.
2. Love God, his people and the world in practical and self giving ways.  
3. Pray for the church, its ministry and leadership and the world.
4. Give to the church’s work generously and regularly.
5. Meet with God’s people for worship, fellowship and teaching.
6. Serve the church’s ministry by using the gifts that God has given me.'

Others have since signed the book as an indication of their commitment. (Our membership now stands around 70).

Membership is renewable each year and on February 13th 2011 we had our first Covenant Renewal Sunday.
